The World is Your Oyster!

I find myself constantly evolving and growing through my photography! I always feel my happiest, most creative and confident, when I am looking at life through my camera lens. It empowers me to focus and challenge myself to experience new things and to always capture beauty even in the ordinary and unexpected!

Photography is a passion, an ever-changing thrill and sometimes an obsession of mine! Mix this all with living on an island;  and well... I truly feel I am living the DREAM!

Picture
Moving to Galveston was one of the best decisions I've ever made! It has given me this beautiful canvas to create works of art! I've never put my photography in a box, staying in a specific lane of photography, I'm much too adventurous for that! To me, with photography... the sky's the limit!

I wanna try it all! I love all types of photography for different reason. Living in a tourist destination  opens the door for me to be versatile and adjust to where my services are needed and where I want to go!

Since living in Galveston, my photography has allowed me to become a premier family vacation photographer! People travel from all over the state and even the world to vacation in Galveston, wanting to capture their memories of their beach experience! It has been great meeting so many fascinating families from all over that actually travel here every year for vacation. It's crazy to say that I have regular clients in Kansas, New York, Dallas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Ohio just to name a few! I have to admit, it's pretty nice having a job that allows you to be barefoot on the beach and call it WORK!

In addition to portrait photography, I've found a wonderful market for real estate photography! This Island lends itself to having some of the most beautiful vacation rentals and beachfront coastal homes! I absolutely LOVE experiencing these beautiful versatile properties, ranging from grand historic homes to cute little cottages and coastal gems. Being able to photograph these homes, creating beautiful and inviting images for my clients to use to market their vacation rentals has been a rewarding venture.

Before I even actually moved to Galveston, I set the dream in motion by traveling here to shoot weddings. I would stay at The Harbor House, shoot the wedding and then cry all the way back home because I did not want to leave the island! Now I'm here helping my clients plan their destination beach weddings, while capturing breathtaking images! I even recently purchased a sailboat named "Hot Sauce", to use to add a little SPICE as a prop for beach weddings!

This island ushers in all things love! I've shot weddings barefoot on the beach being photobombed by a parasailer, surprise proposals on Valentine's Day, romantic sunset engagements at sea, a bride in a dinosaur costume, rooftop and Halloween ceremonies! You name it and I've seen it!

Although I stay busy with portrait and real estate photography, I always try to make time to dabble in fine art landscape photography as well. There are so many beautiful sites and opportunities to get amazing fine art shots around the island! From Galveston's working harbor, coastal beaches, bird sanctuaries and prestigious and historic architecture, it's simply a photographer's dream!

If that doesn't keep me busy enough, I always seem to make time to help promote local businesses here on the Island! Utilizing my marketing and advertising experience, combined with my photography, I am able to provide local businesses with impressive branding images to promote and market their products and services!  One of my highlights was working with the Galveston CVB to capture lifestyle shots to promote Galveston Island and all it has to offer to its guests and residents!

This island is full of life! It offers so many activities and events to enhance the quality of life. Offering event photography has given me the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people and work with amazing organizations on the island whose goals are making this a better place and offers me a little fun factor to my job!

Living in Galveston has given me the opportunity to do whatever I choose to do and succeed! I truly feel that "The world is my oyster"!

Isn't She Lovely!

Preparing for your bridal photo shoot.

I absolutely love shooting bridals!!! It's absolutely one of my favorites!
I think it is always a good choice for brides to have bridal photos taken prior to their wedding day. It gives you an opportunity to have a trial run with makeup, hair and how the dress feels on. It's a little experimental time to get the perfect look you are wanting for your special day! On the day of your wedding, there will be time constraints; the bridal portrait session is your chance to also relax and get comfortable with your photographer before the big day. I love witnessing my clients seeing themselves as BRIDES for the very first time! Not to mention you will have gorgeous portraits to display at your wedding reception!
Picture
Picture
There are a lot of moving parts when it comes to bridal portraits.  You’ve booked hair + makeup, ordered a bouquet, picked up your dress, and set your photo appointment, that’s amazing!  So the best way to avoid having to reschedule due to weather is to book your wedding venue for your bridal portrait session. This gives us a chance to check out the venue and get great shots that will coordinate with your wedding day!
Picture
Picture
Picture
The day of your bridals is a perfect time to slow things down a bit and get all the fine details of not only you as a bride, but of your dress, wedding shoes, and the rings. Here are some great tips to help you plan for your bridal portrait session.
  1. Book your hair + makeup trial. It’s always advisable to have your hair + makeup done for your bridal portraits by the same team who will be doing it on your wedding day, so that you can do a “test run” of your entire bridal look.
  2. Wear comfortable shoes. If you have a special pair of shoes for your wedding day, you can definitely bring them if we’re shooting indoors.  But keep in mind that you can also just wear flip flops or boots under your dress!  We won’t see your feet in your bridal portraits – and especially if we’re shooting outside, you won’t want to wear your beautiful wedding day shoes and get them dirty.
  3. Bring a jacket or blanket if it’s cold – or, if you want to go the extra mile, bring a fur stole!  Bring water and blotting cloths if it’s hot.  We can utilize these things in between photos to keep you as comfortable as possible in the case of really cold or really warm weather.
  4. Don’t stress about being outside in your dress.  Trust me – I would never ask you to do anything that would intentionally dirty your dress.  And even if it does get a little bit of dirt or grass on the bottom, it should be easy enough to remove before the wedding day – and at the end of the day, no one is going to be looking at the bottom hem of your dress with a microscope on your wedding day! It's a good idea to bring a white sheet to stand or sit on for these shots.
  5. Bring your jewelry and veil.  If you’re still undecided about what you want to wear on your wedding day, this is a great time to bring all of your options to see what photographs best.
  6. Don't forget the rings!!! This is a perfect opportunity to get those gorgeous close up shots of your rings!
  7. Order a bouquet.  Some florists include a complimentary bridal portrait bouquet in their pricing, so check with your wedding florist to see if that’s the case.  If not, that’s okay – just make sure to bring a bouquet along so that you have something to complete your bridal look. Plus bridal bouquets add that pop of color and give you something to do with your hands.
  8. Bring your wedding invitation and/or save the date cards or any wedding props or signs you would like to incorporate into your bridal session. I like to take this time to photograph all the little details that go into your wedding. Your wedding day gets crazy busy and I don't want to miss a thing!
  9. Ask your mom or a close friend to come along with you.  It’s always nice to have a second pair of eyes for the details and hands to help with your dress – someone who knows you well – plus the moral support is always nice as you see yourself as a BRIDE for the first time!
